About Judge Aicademy

A free, unofficial study tool for people who want to become — or get better at being — a Magic: The Gathering judge.

How it works

Pick a level (L1, L2, or L3). Each level has a set of lessons covering what you need to know. Read a lesson, then take its multiple-choice ruling test. Pass at 70% and the lesson is marked complete. Clear every lesson in a level to unlock its cumulative final exam.

Want raw reps instead? The Training Room serves an endless, randomized stream of situations from a level's whole question pool, with instant feedback and a running streak — no unlocking, no finish line.

Your progress

Everything is saved in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is uploaded and there's no account. Clearing your browser data (or using the "Reset all progress" button on the home page) wipes it.

The levels & the real judge program

The L1 / L2 / L3 structure comes from the classic DCI and Judge Academy era. Judge Academy wound down in 2023; the community reorganized into Judge Foundry (US) and the International Judge Program (elsewhere). The levels remain a useful way to think about progression, and the underlying documents are unchanged.

Always defer to the official documents

This tool is a study aid, not an authority. Rulings here are simplified for learning. For real events, the official documents govern:
